Words of Advice: What Feature Would You Like to See in Your CAD Tool?

Reading time ( words)

In a recent survey, we asked the following question: What feature would you like to see in your CAD tool? Here are a few of the answers, edited slightly for clarity.

  1. The ability to export a format, without errors, that everyone seems to like.
  2. A global route editor.
  3. Some specific features that are only used occasionally, like placement replication, should be available at an affordable cost with the standard license, rather than having to buy a full professional license.
  4. Much more flexible schematic symbol generation, specifically for the new MCUs, SoCs, and FPGAs, where one defines the actual pin usage in the software.
  5. More automaton for scripting the CAD output process.
